CHRISTPOHER J. AMEEL, PLLC

Christopher (Chris) Ameel has practiced law for more than 30 years, exclusively focused on workers’ compensation cases. In 2017, Chris became Of Counsel with Notzon Law. In this role, he defends self-insured employers and their employees in all facets of workers’ compensation litigation, including:

Chris' work often takes him to the Department of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) central office in Austin, and to the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH), whose offices are located across the state. His Austin office serves as a convenient central location for these proceedings.

Chris started his legal career at the Texas Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Workers’ Compensation section of the Tort Litigation division. During his extensive career, he has served as lead counsel in 60 trials in Texas District Courts and County Courts at Law throughout the state, resulting in favorable jury verdicts and judgments in more than 70 percent of the cases tried. He also has been involved in 10 appeals filed in state appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court.
